November on the Southwell Trail

Most of the focus for November’s photography was on the autumn colours in the local woodlands and forests. This left little time for the Southwell Trail, or perhaps more accurately, little time with good photography conditions. 

Despite this, I did manage to capture some of the russet tones of the oaks trees - generally the last type of tree on the trail to lose its leaves in autumn. These were some of the scenes:












In the poorer weather I concentrated on the detailed aspects of the trail including hawthorn and blackthorn berries and a late autumn frost, an indication that winter was just around the corner:
