Cloud Prompt

Since setting a ‘cloud’ prompt a few months ago I have continued to collect photographs of cloud shapes and patterns, all captured in a abstract style (no ‘land’). In fact, it has become a bit of a habit when out and about with the camera, aided by some changeable spring weather:

Red Prompt (April 2023)

A few months ago I started to identify prompts to kick start some extra creativity for the photography. This included ‘changing the camera settings’, ‘clouds’ and the ‘colour red’.

Finding the colour red, particularly in the landscape, turned out to be quite challenging but once it was in the mind, I started to see reds in different places. My definition of ‘red’ also became wider to include pinks, violets, and some oranges.

These are the results including a canvas covering, brick reds, red dead-nettles, some garden reds, late sun on the landscape, apple blossom, carpet of campion flowers in a local field and some which are harder to spot (e.g. red box on the back of a tractor!).

These came mostly from the wake of passing boats which generated rolls of reflected colour either from the sky or the trees that line the banks of the river:
