Pruned Willow Tree!

Maintenance on the Southwell Trail generally takes place during the winter months including repairs to the path, the clearing of undergrowth, and occasionally tree surgery. This year, one of the willow trees has been cut back with the removal of the overhanging branches. I guess these were deemed a potential hazard for walkers, cyclists, and for horse riders, in particular. From a photographic point, I will miss one of my compositions. Here is a quick before and after:

My usually monthly round up of Southwell Trail photography, mainly featuring the winter trees and noticing how quickly time is moving on. It won't be long before spring arrives and the leaves start to return.

A second visit to the River Trent during February, capturing the golden hour sunlight near to Fiskerton. As the sun set behind the cloud line on the horizon, attention turned the clouds shapes and patterns, including some reflections from the calm waters of the Trent.
