Watchwood Plantation (November 2019)

These are the results from two trips to the Watchwood Plantation. I was interested in the colours from some autumnal larch trees that I could see from the road and then, as I walked around the plantation, the logging activity that was taking place in various locations.

Starting with the larch trees, the first image below shows the scene from the roadside. This is followed number of images taken closer to the trees. A second visit was required as I lost the sunlight first time around. I have included a repeat shot, image 2 and 3 below, one with sunlight and one without, and this shows the impact of light on the final results:









Whilst the flat light was a disadvantage for the larch tree shots, it seemed to add atmosphere the logging images particularly where the machines had cut avenues deep into the woods:
