Clipstone Forest (November 2019)

The transition between autumn and winter tends to last a couple of weeks, sometimes longer. Many of trees during this period lose their leaves completely but there are some patches of colour which makes photographic composition easy. I particularly enjoy the dotted colours where the leaves have thinned out, leaving, in some cases, only a few stragglers hanging on.















Reflections are an alternative way to view some of the trees:



Some of wooded areas were looking very bare with most of colour at ground level:



Finally, there was some frost in settled areas, further evidence of winter approaching:
