Hexgreave Estate - November 2019

This selection of photographs focuses on the seasonal colours on the Hexgreave Estate viewed from the Southwell Trail followed by an update on the Hexgreave lime tree avenue.

Firstly, the seasonal scenes from the Southwell Trail are mainly farmland, woods and plantations which are all part of the Hexgreave Estate. Less attractively, electrical pylons and lines pass over the fields which would have been a photographic deterrent a few years ago. Now I tend to embraced them as a feature of the landscape and even use them as an integral part of the compositions:









Secondly, I revisited the lime trees on the Hexgreave Estate which I last photographed in September. The autumn colours were at their peak at the start of November although the weather wasn't the best for capturing this. When I returned a week later many of the leaves had dropped and the trees were starting to look bare:
