I like to visit Clumber Park’s lime tree avenue at this time of year for the autumn colours. Getting the timing right is the annual challenge and would normally aim a visit during the last couple of weeks in October. Timing is important with limes as they tend to lose their leaves quickly.
This year I decided to go early, partly based on the long term weather forecast and partly on observing the colour changes in the local lime trees. I have found over the years that the limes are best captured in a warming sunlight with the blue of the sky complimenting the bright yellow leaves.
