Autumn Beech Tree (October 2020)

With a greater emphasis placed on local photography as we combat coronavirus, I have tended to visit the same locations more regularly. This has enabled me to chart the seasonal changes in greater detail than I might have done in previous years.

Some of that focus has been on individual or small groups of trees including this rather impressive mature beech tree on Combs Lane, Farnsfield. 

The sequence begins in the first week of October with mostly green leaves still on the tree, although they had lost some of their summer vibrancy:



Just over two weeks later this had been transformed into an autumn spectacle with an array of auburn toned leaves:



By the end of the month the leaves had started to thin out but there were still enough to provide a fine autumn glow in the sunlight and provide the best set of the season for this particular tree:
