September on the Southwell Trail - Part 2

This sequence of photographs starts to document the transition from the summer season to autumn along the Southwell Trail. Whilst the canopy was still quite thick in places there was evidence of the leaves drying out and changing colour.

The first trees to change were the hornbeam and horse chestnut trees but I also spotted isolated colour change on the birch trees, maples, and ash trees. Even some of the oaks which tend to be last to change are showing very early signs of autumn colour.
