Late Summer Skies (September 2019)

I often think that sky is overlooked as a primary subject for photography. Some of the cloud formations are as interesting in terms of shape and texture as any other 'abstract' subject. For example, these are some shots taken in early September picking out the wispy cloud shapes:









Following the sky theme are these photographs taken on the path between Upper Hexgreave and Bilsthorpe. One particular field has sufficient elevation to create an horizon allowing minimalist compositions with a big sky, enhanced by some muted pale tones:






On the same path I took these views of the surrounding landscape, this time concentrating on the light on the land rather than sky:
