September on the Southwell Trail - Part 1 (2020)

The search for autumn colours, my favourite photography season, started from the beginning of September. Perhaps that was a bit early but my daily walks along the Southwell Trail enabled me to track the subtle seasonal changes as well as providing opportunities to capture the scenes at various times of day and in different lighting conditions. This is something that I particularly value and trail photography remains one of the simple pleasures in life.

These are some of the results from September, starting with general views of the trail and the surrounding fields. There was still a lot of green in the trees and the final summer harvest was being completed yet there were some early signs of autumn, with leaves starting to yellow and summer fruits maturing - like the ash tree keys shown in some of the images below:

In the next couple of posts I will expand on this selection of images to show more of the detailed changes on the trail including some seasonal close up photography.
