Imperial War Museum (July 2017)

These are a selection of images featuring the Imperial War Museum in Manchester. They were taken three years ago when I was taking a break from the photoblogging and they have remained on the list to publish ever since.

The delay was partly due to finding the time to process all the images but when I recently knuckled down to the task it was an opportunity to re-engage with the architecture. 

The design of the building symbolises the destructiveness of war and comprises of three shards that represent the conflicts on the land, sea and in the air. The shards are all that remains of a broken globe with the rest of pieces missing or destroyed (1):
