River Trent (August and September 2020)

When the virus restrictions were relaxed a few months ago I preferred to stay local for my photography and away from crowds. 

A good location for this was a stretch of the River Trent at Fiskerton which has two walks: one in the direction of Newark on Trent and the other towards Hazelford Lock.

I published the results from a number of these walks in May and June and made a note to return for the autumn colours. 

Following up on that note were two visits along the Hazelford Lock walk in late August and mid-September. I did think that late August would be too early for any colour change but was surprised to see some early signs of autumn. These are a selection of photographs from the walk:











By mid-September the autumn tones had developed further with some golden hues on show along the river bank. These were some of the results starting with a repeat composition; one taken during the August walk and the same tree captured in September.  By sheer coincidence both photographs were taken within five minutes of each other, approximately three weeks apart, and demonstrate nicely the tree's transition from summer into early autumn:
