December on Combs Lane - Part 1

Combs Lane has featured regularly in my posts during 2020 as it is a location that I can walk to from home. It benefits from good light both in the mornings and evenings and the landscape is interesting enough to keep the photography varied. Of course, the main reason for visiting so often is the continuing ‘stay local’ Covid situation enforced either by lockdowns or by self-imposed rules.

The weather in the first half of December was dominated by periods of rain, or that was certainly how it felt, and the area around Combs Lane provided an number of opportunities to capture the conditions. For example, this first set records the rain filled clouds over the landscape. A burst of sunlight provided some additional contrast that emphasised the threatening nature of the incoming weather:








This next set features the wet mud churned up by the tractors working in one of the fields adjacent to Combs Lane. The tractor's turning circle was the main focus for the photography together with shots of the wet and muddy lane:
