Clumber Park (February 2019)

The warm weather in February (see my previous post) provided a good opportunity to visit Clumber Park and a sunny walk around the lake.

I noticed almost immediately how the winter sun was warming the distinctive two toned stonework of St Mary's Chapel and spent a few minutes capturing some of the detail:

















Earlier in the year I had captured some elegant tracery in the winter trees across Clumber Lake and decided to repeat some of those photographs. Interestingly though, the bright sunny conditions removed much of the subtle colour that was present in January and may be they weren't as successful this time around, although they remain pleasant to look at:








This is an example image from January to compare with the above shots. It was taken in low light conditions which was better at drawing out the subtle yellows, greens and reds - sunlight is often the photographer's friend but not always!
