Curbar Edge (January 2019)

This was the first visit of the year to Curbar Edge in the Peak District. There was still some snow in the sheltered high areas and plenty of low cloud which later turned into a fog. In between there were moments of brightness and one of these moments produced the best image of the day:

The occasional shafts of sunlight across the valley became the focus for much of the photography with one image working well in a gritty black and white style:

The icy puddles and trees below the edge provided an additional source of photographic interest:

The walk back to the car saw brief periods of sunlight before the fog descended:
