Lighthouse Abstracts

In my previous post I mentioned the graffiti on the original lighthouse at Punta Pechiguera, near Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. Here I show some of the graffiti in a set of abstract images. It can be easy to be judgmental about graffiti. Mostly I find it unsightly and ugly yet close up, with the benefit of photo enhancement, some the colours, shapes, and textures, can be really engaging:

Footbridge (June 2018)

I don't condone graffiti, most of it is ugly to look at, but close up it can produce some interesting abstract images. The idea is to get close enough to remove the meaning and focus on the colours and the textures. For example, I took these images on a footbridge whilst out walking:
