Final Lanzarote Images.....

This is the final post from our holiday to Lanzarote and includes an assortment of photographs that didn't fit with any of the themes covers so far in the series. The first selection was taken near the marina in Playa Blanca where small boats are dragged onto the beach:

Finding colour and patterns in rock is recurring theme in my photography and spotting the compositions becomes a habit - even in paving stones!

There was a lot of dry looking scrub particularly in areas that were not regularly maintained. Some of this included small flowers and bits of colour:

Finally, these are a selection of abstract photographs from the wall of what I assumed to be the remnants of a traditional dwelling in Playa Blanca:

Volcanic Rock - Part 3

The final selection of rock studies from Lanzarote focuses on patches of salt which I assume are formed from sea water evaporating in the hot sun. In a similar way to the previous posts in this series, I am looking at the textures, lines and patterns, and variations in tone a colour:

Volcanic Rock - Part 2

In this second selection of volcanic rock studies from Lanzarote I used the deep orange-brown colour of the soil to contrast with the black rocks and to add interest to the compositions. I was intrigued by some of the orange on individual rocks which I think might be a type of lichen - but I can't be certain:

Finally this image provides some context to the above images, giving an idea of the terrain in Lanzarote.
