Clipstone Forest (May 2019)

Forest photography can be difficult in the late Spring and summer months. The greens can be overwhelming and the deep shadows and bright highlights can be hard to manage. On this occasion though, the light was flat in Clipstone Forest from overcast skies and it was surprisingly dark under the canopy. For most of the shots I had to use a high ISO (800, 1250 or more) and then manage the resulting noise in post processing. These were some of the results:
