Sherwood Forest Revisted - Part 2 (November 2018)

Looking for light and colour in the top of trees has been a recurring theme for my autumn photography. This is due to the low angle of the sun which restricts the amount of direct light at ground level. Certainly, by mid-afternoon the only light available for photography is high in the trees where the leaves are still illuminated and full of colour.

On this ocassion though, I noticed that the canopy was looking thinner, the peak of autumn had passed and some of the colour was patchy with more bare branches on show. There was still enough colour for the photography to be interesting but I get the sense that this was the last opportunity of the season:
