Blidworth Woods (June 2021)

The theme for this set of photographs from Blidworth Woods is early summer greens. They were particularly vibrant at the beginning of June although not really noticed at the time. It is only the late processing of the images that had allowed me to compare the freshness of these colours with August's deep verdant hues. 

As a result, it has occurred to me that there is more appreciation of seasonal photography when there is delay between capture and processing. The images become more interesting when the possibility of grabbing the camera and taking similar scenes has passed. 

That said, I think photoblogging tends to lose some of its relevance when the images are ‘out-of-date’. It is certainly much harder to recall details of the photography when it happened months ago. Hopefully, as we move into autumn I can catch up with my processing and strike a better balance for the new season.
