River Trent (March 2021)

Seeing the flowing water again after months of lockdown was a delight. The River Trent is only a few miles from home and with the virus situation improving this quiet location provided a welcome change of environment for the daily walk. 

The main photographic subject was the reflections in the fast moving water, one that I often capture in this location, but this time it felt a bit new and fresh:












Another subject that I approached with an abstract style in mind was a thicket of unknown trees. I particularly liked the textured complexity of the tangle. Few identifiers were available for the trees except for one catkin laden hazel:




Finally for this walk, two images that are more conventional in style. The first captures the warm tones of the willows that line the Trent, adding colour to landscape. The second captures the afternoon light on a nicely shaped tree that clings onto the side of the river bank, composing nicely with the line of the grasses, the small gully, and the irregular fencing:
