March on the Southwell Trail - Part 1

It was notable that the Southwell Trail photography had dropped off in volume during the lockdown period and March in particular. Part of this was explained by the feeling of repetition in the photography, something that I wrote about in previous posts. Another reason was a focus on artwork at home and processing images from past years.

Part of the reprocessing exercise was a review of trips to the Peak District from 2014, which I have already posted, and then a visit to the castles in Northumberland. These ‘virtual’ photography tours have been really enjoyable, not these same as being there, but a motivator to reinvigorate the photography when the virus situation allows.

The trail photograph during March was therefore more of a record of the conditions which I will split into two posts. This one includes a selection of the landscape shots (wider angle scenes of the trail and surroundings) and the next focuses on some of the detail along the trail with spring just around the corner.

The first set shows early evening light on the trail after a very wet day:

Next are more scenes from a section of the trail that I covered in recent previous posts - the repetition I spoke about!

Finally, an assortment of subjects from various walks including the return of livestock to one of the local fields:
