Mackerel Sky (August 2026)

Photographs of a mackerel sky over Ness and Teignmouth Pier. This name comes from the patchy mottled cloud formation resembling fish scales.

The Ness (July 2026)

In my last post, I mentioned that my photography often centres around motifs – recurring elements that evoke a sense of place. The Ness is a key motif and these are some summer scenes from July.  They include sunset shots and hazy days, as well as photographs of the immediate surroundings of the Ness.

Sunset Colours (May 2026)

Sunset colours viewed from Teignmouth’s seawall looking towards the Ness at Shaldon, the coastline around to Hope’s Nose in Torquay and then looking in the opposite direction to Holcombe Head.
