October on the Southwell Trail - Part 2 (2022)

Autumn colours arrive on the Hexgreave Estate, contrasting with the many pylons and electrical wires that cut across the landscape in this direction. Avoiding them in the photography is not really possible so the next best option is to embrace the pylons as a feature that can be composed, preferably on one of thirds, to reduce their impact and allow attention to rest on the colours around them.

The march of the pylons continues to the next field where a few ash and oak trees stand alone. Careful positioning with the camera allows their impact to minimised, including altering the point view so a pylon is hidden behind a tree trunk, or changing the focal length to avoid them in the frame, or better still using a chance rainbow as a distraction.
