Derby Flyover (October 2019)

Two themes developed on a walk from Derby city centre to the railway station. The first was the autumn colours on the path alongside the River Derwent and the second was a flyover near to the station.

The flyover set was prompted by the lines and angles created mainly by the bright sunny conditions casting deep shadows and, whilst it comes second to the autumn colours in terms of aesthetic appeal, I found the subject interesting to capture and I like the results:

These were some of the scenes captured along the riverside:

Welney Wetland Centre (June 2019)

Continuing the wet weather theme from my last post is a series of images from the Welney Wetland Centre in Norfolk. The visit was a family outing rather than a specific photography event but I managed to record some heavy rain clouds rolling across the open landscape:

This was the view from inside the centre:

Whilst in Norfolk we visited both Wisbech and King's Lynn where I took a number of urban landscapes. Included are some black and white conversions:

City Photography (May 2019)

These are a selection of photographs taken in Nottingham City centre in early May 2019. I had no particular subject in mind and decided to stop at certain points in the city and construct images from the immediate surroundings. As a result there is an assortment of images, some good and some that are a little forced....a good photographic exercise though.
