River Exe (July 2026)

Following up on my previous River Exe post from 4th July 2026, I’m exploring the river from Starcross to the Exeter Ship Canal near Topsham. This includes some abstract images of the river at low tide.

River Exe (May 2026)

I took the following series of photographs mainly around Starcross on the River Exe. I was particularly intrigued by the number of abandoned or wrecked boats. Some were sunk into the riverbed while others stood on sandbanks, waiting for the tide to return.

Haldon Belvedere (April 2026)

April’s photography finished with a chance visit to the white tower or Haldon Belvedere, a grade ii-listed folly sitting high on the Haldon Hills. Built in 1788 it offers spectacular panoramic views of Dartmoor, Exeter and the River Exe but I particularly liked the view of the castle from the entrance path framed by the trees:
