Day four of the snow and it was beginning to melt away. The wind had whipped up the top soil blowing over the snow. In places it looked quite surreal, like a huge whipped chocolate dessert......

Winter on the Southwell Trail - Part 16

The 'beast from the east' hit the Southwell Trail the hardest on day three with bitter winds driving snow across the open fields. At times is was hard to keep the lens clear of icy flakes and I was reduced to operating the camera through thick gloves. That said, snow is wonderful to photograph and it was an opportunity not to be missed.
