These photographs from May 2026 depict a fog or Larry (or Lary) rolling over the River Teign estuary in the late evening. Throughout the day visibility was poor and at times only the tops of the headland trees were visible.
A Larry is a local nickname for a fast-moving fog that sweeps across the River Teign estuary.
Taken between 8:45 and 9:30pm, the images show the camera gradually struggling with the twilight. This rendered a blue cast on the photos and introduced significant noise. While the software corrected some of this, I preferred to leave the images mostly unaltered as a record of the conditions.
