The first snow of the winter series fell at the end of January but only lasted for a day. It was an opportunity to revisit some familiar compositions in different conditions including my favourite ash trees on the path to the Hexgreave Estate:
I like the contrast between the fresh snow and the dark branches in this next set. The first image is my favourite. I have always liked the way the branches grow on this particular tree but unfortunately a couple of weeks later they where cut down to allow a maintenance lorry to navigate the path - which is a shame.
