A new perspective on the landscape can be achieved by switching the camera's settings to monochrome and using live-view to compose in black and white.
At St Agnes Head the grey weather conditions were not looking particularly promising until I switched to mono. With small in-camera adjustments to contrast and colour filtration some subtle toned mono images emerged.
Later in post processing I used the camera's JPEG mono files as a reference point to convert the RAW files. This allowed more control over the conversion whilst not fundamentally changing the tones captured on the day.
I also applied a digital mount to a file copy which helped to view the final compositions ahead of making some prints:
