Mullion - Photography Week 7 (2016)

More from 2016 and a set of images taken on a walk from Poldhu Cove to Mullion in Cornwall. It was a particularly grey day with a sharp wind if I remember correctly - certainly not a day for landscape photography and the reason why this set got overlooked at the time.

The walk started from the parking area at Poldhu Cove following the coastal path up the cliff towards Poldhu nursing home, previously the Poldhu Hotel built in 1899. This is view from the path looking down to the cove:

On top of the cliff is the Marconi monument which marks the location of Poldhu wireless station, famous for transmitting the first transatlantic radio message in 1901 (1):

The path continues to Polurrian Cove which lies on the western edge of the Lizard boundary fault, before descending sharply to Mullion harbour:

Walking around the harbour, I came across the wonderful colours and textures of Rene's bench:

There was also some fishing ropes and nets alongside the harbour wall:

The wall itself was packed with texture and colour:

Completing the return journey I stopped and had a look at the rock formations at Poldhu Cove:
