Sherwood Mist - Photography Week 37 (2016)

There a few photographic scenes that can't be improved with a bit of mist. Not only does it add to the atmosphere of the picture, it also provides an appealing softness from reduced contrast and desaturated colours.

The following images were taken on a misty morning in Sherwood Forest. These are probably the best conditions for photographing the forest as the mist diffuses a lot of the background details and helps to simplify the compositions:
