Wheal Coates Mine - Photography Week 23 (2016)

Wheal Coates mine is one of the classic landscape photography venues in Cornwall. The Towanroath engine house composes perfectly on the side of the cliff with the coastal path providing the ideal lead-in to the picture. Evening is a good time to visit as the sun sets offshore bathing the cliff face in warm light.

It is not really a venue for original photography as most of the angles have been covered many times before. The only aspect of originality is the weather at the point of capture. For this visit I had some misty low cloud and broken sun which made for some enjoyable evening photography:
