Golden Hour on Stanage Edge - Photography Week 13 (2016)

Waiting for the light to change is part and parcel of landscape photography. Sometimes the wait is more in hope than expectation but on this visit to Stanage Edge in the Peak District I could see that the sun would drop below the cloud line just at the right time.

Sure enough, with an hour to sundown there was uninterrupted light along the edge starting with a gentle evening glow, followed by a burst of intense golden light, and then a final pinky redness just before the sun disappeared.

A most enjoyable outing with the following results - shown in time order with a number of repeat or near similar compositions as the light changed:
